DRAFT An (e)learning framework for the schools sector.
Consultation Book
VISION
All learners will use ICT confidently and creatively to help develop the skills and knowledge they need to achieve personal goals and to be full participants in the global community.
Please comment on any aspects of the vision
“To help develop the skills and knowledge”
This seems a simple issue of misalignment.
Given current eduspeak around the MoE’s The Curriculum/ Marautanga Stocktake notion of Key Competencies - “knowledge, skills, attitudes and values cannot be separated”, this focus on skills and knowledge alone seems strangely limited for a “pan sector” VISION.
Perhaps even a reckless omission for something represented as a ““superset” of vision …””
Think it might be smarter to align the new (e)Learning Framework draft with the Curriculum Stocktake Key Competency thinking, that knowledge, skills, attitudes, values and modblogger Pauru’s motivation are inextricably interconnected.
Think we should broaden the (e)Learning notion of "knowledge and skills" to include attitudes values and motivation in the draft VISION.
“To help develop the skills and knowledge” becomes “To help develop the knowledge, skills, attitudes, values and motivation”
